- Florida attorney Tomas Gamba writes in a Miami Herald op-ed that stronger disclosure laws are needed for contributions made to and gifts lavished upon doctors by big Pharma.
- The Iowa Supreme Court heard arguments in a challenge to the state’s ban on same-sex marriage. If the court rules in favor of the half dozen gay people who filed the lawsuit, it would make Iowa the fourth state behind Massachusetts, California, and Connecticut to recognize equal rights for gay people when it comes to marriage.
- A “midnight regulation” passed by the Bush adminstration will give railroads immunity from state tort lawsuits.
