I’ve been busy as of late. My apologies for the infrequent postings. Here are are a couple of recent law-related articles worth reading:
- Las Vegas Sun, “Employers finding way around OSHA’s tougher stance” - this paper has been great about highlighting the failures of government to ensure safe workplaces.
- “Class Status Denied in Suit Against DuPont Over Chemical-Tainted Water” – a federal district judge denied class certification for a medical monitoring claim after drinking water was possiblycontaminated (the judge was appointed by, you guessed it, “W”).
- “3rd Circuit Slashes Punitives,Imposes 1-1 Ratio” – punitive damages have been dealt a severe blow recently by the U.S. Supreme Court in both the State Farm and Exxon cases. These pro-business rulings are now spreading through the Circuit courts.
